On behalf of the American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology (ACPN) I would like to invite you to attend the 3rd Masterclass in Psychopharmacology, that will be taking place in Dubai from the 16th till the 18th of January 2020.

Our three-day programme gathered internationally renowned experts in the field of psychiatry. After the masterclass our delegates will have the knowledge of the latest research and treatment advances across many mental health conditions. It offers an in-depth information that is important for all mental health and primary care professionals. The 8 British international speakers are ones of the top expert in their field and considered pioneers in the UK and the world. The areas covered are anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, depression, psychotic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, addictions and for the first-time child and adolescent psychiatry. Furthermore, we will be covering 2 new areas that were never been discussed. Non pharmacological treatment such as rTMS and ECT ) as well as social prescribing.

This course was also a great opportunity to meet and network with between ourselves and colleagues, both regional and international while expanding existing connections or creating new ones, and finding opportunities for future collaboration in common areas of interest.

MASTERCLASS SUMMARY

 

The Masterclass in Psychopharmacology was organized by American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology (ACPN) for the first time in January 2018 in UAE to bring the latest updates in the field of Mental Health treatment focusing on the latest updates in psychopharmacology. It was delivered mainly to psychiatrists and practitioners with special interest in mental health in the UAE and the GCC.

The 1st Masterclass in Psychopharmacology was organized in lines with the BAP (British Association of Psychopharmacology) guidelines.The meeting began with a review of the basic pharmacology of the relevant drugs before dealing in detail with their clinical use. This included discussions around relevant BAP and NICE guidelines.

The second Masterclass in psychopharmacology is meant to compliment the first one and to cover the areas that were not covered in the first masterclass. This will include anxiety disorders, treatment in the perinatal periods and special precautions, sleep disorders, bipolar disorders focusing on the mixed affective part and the use of lithium will be emphasized.
